As an expat who’s been away from Mexico for over 8 years, it’s not easy finding authentic Mexican food that truly hits home — but Taco Loco in Tupelo, MS surprised me in the best way. I ordered the lengua tacos, and the taste took me straight back to the street taquerías I grew up with. The meat was well-seasoned and tender, the tortillas were just right, and the fresh toppings — cilantro, onion, pickled onions, and a lime wedge — brought everything together perfectly. What I appreciated most is that they didn’t try to “Americanize” the flavor. The salsa had real depth and heat, the presentation was clean and inviting, and the portions were solid. “ Came here with my husband and in-laws for a late lunch today. The place is super cute and nice! Love the brick and bright colors. We shared chips and salsa, the chips were very fresh and delicious. My husband got the pork belly tacos, mother in law got the quesadilla and father in law got the wings. I got the Doritos nachos, which is the only photo I have. Everything was great! We all loved it and will definitely come back. Service was quick and friendly. ”

The staff treated us like family, and everyone was SO nice! We were in town for my son's XC race, so my sister and I stumbled upon this place Friday night, and they happened to be having a block party to celebrate their 1 year anniversary at this location. It was SO good, we had to go back the NEXT day to take my son!! I wouldn't mind driving back to Tupelo just for THIS restaurant! I will DEFINITELY be going back. Everything was affordable and VERY reasonably priced as well! ”
